I was able to do the immobilizer on my own I calibrate vehicles for a living so that was easy it’s the tuning that has me nervous. it idles fine and has good oil pressure I’m just not sure where to start tuning wise without blowing it up

Do you have a wideband installed?

19silverado 04-28-2021 01:47 PM

No I do not after a bit of research it seems almost necessary do you have any recommendations on a brand?

AME is what most people use. With your newer truck I can't give you a part number but the X series is what I have. I think the newer stuff is CANBUS where I'm analog. My advise is to join HP Tuners forums for much better advice and check out "Goat Rope Garage" Youtube channel.

This guy is a tuning God on Gen V. He'd definitely be worth talking to and you can take his advice to the bank. Love the truck! www.jannettyracing.com

yep, Ted Jannetty has been pretty big in the late-model Camaro & Corvette world for a good while - especially with PD blowers.

If your not tuning it yourself you do not need a wideband.

True but it's a great tool for a piece of mind even if you're not tuning. Every time I'm in PE (when possible) I give the W/B a quick glance to make sure nothing is awry. A dirty or failing MAF, unmetered air, injector issue etc. will be easily visible on the gauge. Plus some "so called" tuners totally suck and you can't see their engine damaging incompetence lol.

And it’s not bragging, this is a forum and that’s the point. To share stuff.

folks're gonna catch crap about anything good or bad around here at some point - might as well break him in early ;)

i will admit that on a boosted motor, i like having that little green/yeller/red in the corner of my eye when i'm on it because it's actually helped me detect an intake leak while romping before & i was able to ease up before it leaned out too bad.

Send him over to GMFS for a proper "breaking in" :hmmm:

Used to be a great forum and loved that place back in the day when Brandon and Steve owned it. Today it's a nightmare for new members especially if they're green. They moved away from VBulletin and use some fk'd up chinese software that sucks. It's owned by a Canadian company that's bought up dozens of forums and ruined every dammed one. Admins never respond to the fk'd up glitches in the software. Got so bad members were calling admins pussies and fgts with zero repercussions. I haven't logged in in two years probably never will.
