Me and farmerbeau put it in at the end of last week along with hardened pushrods and 918s.

Its the comp XR265HR high lift version. I put it in my truck which is pretty much completely stock down to the paper air filter. I do have ls1 fans and a wait4me tune though.
First off, I would like to say that I can tell a difference in the bottom end. I did not lose anything and even go as far as saying that its better. I can really tell with these 3.42s. However, this cam does pull all the way past 6000 and it pulls pretty damn good. It even lopes some with the idle set at ~500 rpm through the stock exhaust. I know Im leaving a lot on the table with all these other stock parts, but I wanted to do something I would actually feel, WITHOUT A DOUBT. I probaly dropped $550 + $~15 for a retune (shipping) into it (I used pretty much all used parts and get some extra last min crap) For $~565 I figure thats a good price/performance ratio. Everyone's gonna flog me for it, but its my money, not yours. :) I already had the tune, so I coulda bought a magnaflow catback for 550, but this just looked more attractive.

I'm a big supporter of things like this. THat's probably one of the best single modifications you could have done. There's no way that a cat back would have near the glory the cam would.

I put a cam in a 4.8 ECSB truck that only had a drop in filter and a single in/dual out Flow40 on it. After the retune, I was pleased with the end result. The owner was somewhat satisfied too. This was with a 216/220 114 Comp Cam. There was a very noticable gain in the low end as well as the top end. I don't understand why people still say that a small cam like that will make you loose bottom end torque, but hey, whatever.

Thanks Flyer, Im glad Im not the only one who sees it this way.

I was kinda fearing the worst as far as my low end goes after hearing what people have said. I realize that even the stock powerband is complimented with a higher stalled convertor but the lowend honestly feels better with this cam. Topend does not even compare. Im very happy with it.

I have the lower lift version of this cam. Love it! Excellent base if you plan to upgrade to a blower.

glad you liked it... I used to have the low lift version of that cam witha TB converter and 3.42's and got to run a 14.0 on a good day.... get you a TB converter, it drives like a stock one and does a good job with that cam...

Oh yea, That is my stock tail pipe, its just polished with a little bit of mothers :nod: After all, it is aluminized steel.

Once you get about 3 feet away you can barely tell its there.

i think this is what im gonna do to my truck this summer... screw all the supporting mods right away... and that makes me happy to hear the low end is still there..
