Hi Guys,

Just thought I would share my performance upgrades in this thread.

I'll start off with a few pictures of the parts going on there...
All parts received, some parts are already on and the balance of the install is scheduled for Monday.

Any details about the cam? Did you get a stall converter too? I'm curious what kind of gains you'll see.

Did you get any baseline 1/4 mile times?

On the cam issue:
Cam is Mast Motorsports HO VVT cam for L92/L99 engines.
224/238 - .578/.593 - 115
Here's the link:
Mast Motorsports High Performance Powertrain Solutions
I contacted Mast and they highly recommended that I do not delete VVT.
They said that VVT enables them to get higher results from a milder cam.

Stall converter:
I am working with Justin at Black Bear on this. I asked him about doing a stall and he said that with the current mods, no need to do a stall as the 6L80 is fine without one, even with a cam.

Unfortunately, I did not dyno the truck stock.
I did dyno the truck after installing the CAI, headers and local tune. It was running quite rich at the time though, and it was not tuned for the headers/y-pipe, so the tune was less than ideal. It dyno-ed T 312 AWHP AND 356 AWTQ I believe.

I am going for the install of the rest of the kit today and will start the tuning process with Justin tomorrow. As soon as I am done with the tuning with Justin, I will dyno again and post both dyno sheets here.

The gains would then be attributable to the cam and Justin's magic work.

As far as baseline 1/4 mile, I do not have access to a track locally.

I do have a Performance Box and I will post PBox run results after the job is complete, but I did not do any PBox runs to baseline.

I will post more details as I get 'em.

I will get the data logging done today to send to Justin@BBP.
Hopefully shouldn't be too long before I have a solid tune.

Al parts are on the truck.
BBP initial tune received and installed.

Here's a quick vid of cold start (iPhone so not the best).

Is that with ARH headers running through factory exhaust?

Sounds good

K_ddsl 04-09-2012 10:01 PM

Thanks.

I really wanted to try to keep noise levels under control.
I was told that the stock muffler on these trucks flows pretty well so that's what I did.
ARH 1 7/8 headers, ORY, stock muffler and resonator.
I am looking at maybe upgrading the resonator to something a bit quieter though.

Dyno run video

Here's a video of the dyno run.
This is with BBP initial tune. Final tune is pending.
