12's N/A?

I'm looking to go a bit more agressive with my DD. Its an 00' rclb 2wd. I've done: full boltons+ comp 265 highlift and milled 706's .025. I run a built trans w/ circle d 3200 stall, 4.10's and a trutrac. light light wheelspin off the line has netted me consistant 14.1's in the 95mph range. my truck falls on its face in the top end. recently I got ahold of some 706's that are 3 angle valve job full port and polish and milled .030 from a local race shop. i'm wanting to swap these heads and go big on the cam. I dont know how big to go before the rest of my drivetrain needs changed. I was thinking of something similar to the tsp 228r or maybe even one of the new comp lsr's. I need help picking a cam! I plan to pull the motor to replace a rear main and swap the cam and heads and while i'm in there I'm hoping to do rod bolts for some peace of mind. can someone point me in the right direction?

your truck seems like its lacking some performance
read my sig... you should be low 13s

That seems like low et's for what you have. How good of a tune are you running?

Yeah you should be running high 12s low 13s now, somethings not right. Tune maybe??

at the question at hand, im running the 228/228 with 706's milled .045 and a 2.0 valve job, and this lil setup seems to working really well for me....ive had this cam since 05' but in the midst of swapping cams....im wanting an lsr cam...maybe a 227/235 or a 230/236...something with more torque and a nice duration split for n20....hope all works well for you.

I'm lost. Wheatley has mail order tuned for everything I've done. My plan was to dyno tune and run dr's and caltracs to see what i could get out of this set up but with a leaky rear main and the great deal on heads I'm wanting to go ahead with a bigger cam when i pull the motor that will "guarantee" me 12's as long as i hook. I understand if this is un reasonable but i'm really hurting with the go fast bug. other than another tune and sub 2.0 second 60 fts what am I missing here? also why was this thread moved?

oh i see i posted in the wrong section so...scratch my confusion.

well to be honest a mail order tune is not the best way. if you want more in your tune "which seems what your lacking" drive it or trailer it and get a dyno tune, your gonna see more that way bc no two trucks with the same setups will have the same outcomes.

the best 60ft i cut was 2.0 on these 3.42 gears
you got more gear and convertor you should be moving in a sc truck
