the bulletin was for the hd trucks only as far as i recall. they went from a two piece steel to a one piece (very large) aluminum. i do recall a p.i. on the half ton's once, but i'm not sure if i can still find it or not.

Would this help with the "clunk" that some guys have coming from their drive-shaft?

i'm going to look into the info if it's still available on the half ton driveshaft. if you were to look into one though, going one piece sure does eliminate alot of problems. denny's could probably make one.

I think thats more the lubing of the driveshaft than length...

When mine clunks I lube it up and im good to go....

I had a custom drive shaft made for my 84 GMC at Austin Driveline and it costed @ $250 for the shaft (steel),new yoke, and new spicer u-joints. To have one made for our trucks shouldnt be much more. I have some vibration when i punch it off the line because of axle wrap. Will a one piece fix this?

The SS's come with these big aluminum driveshafts.

I'm fighting a bit of high speed shudder. It happens above 80mph, on the throttle. It's not the tires - one of the driveshafts.

I'm working on finding a shop to balance them for me.

The SS has a transfer case - - so the shaft is a little shorter
Us 2wd ECSB guys have a short shaft - carrier bearing - longer shaft
I think Greg and my thought is to replace the entire assy with a 1 pc
long drive shaft
Both his and mine are lowered 2/4 - so the driveline angle cant be that
severe.
On our trucks to do a 2/4 - we have to relo the carrier brg upwards
I was looking at Summits catalog
I was going to measure my drive line angle - see where its at

I have not contacted Denny's on this yet. I would like to know if GM makes one for the 2wd though. A 2wd 6.0 HD with a 4l65 possibley???? I'll get on it next week. Mine doesn't shutter to bad, and I do have a carrier bearing relocator, but haven't put it on yet. I wanted to research this first.
