08 silverado 4x4 4.8 to 5.3 conversion?
 

since the 4.8 and the 5.3 share the same block and bore is it possible to get a 5.3 crankshaft and install it into a 4.8 therefore converting it into a 5.3??
is there other stuff im not thinking of?? is this in any way possible??

anything is possible but itd be easier to just swap in a 5.3 Long Block or Short Block

I know for sure to convert a 4.8 to a 5.3 you have to change crankshaft and the connecting rods, and the earlier 99-07 4.8 had flat top pistons 5.3 had dished..which would make the 4.8 make higher compression with a 5.3 stroke.. Good for a n/a build. But that envolves pulling heads pistons rods crank.. Everything, so alota Ppl probably gonna say swap a 5.3 short block or bore it ou to a 346 (ls1) since you can find ls1 rotating assemblies for under 250.. And 5.3 and ls1 share the same crankshaft and rods..just larger bore
