08 Sierra Denali 6.2 Texas Speed 2.2 VVT Cam
Thought I would share a sound clip of my brothers Texas Speed 2.2 VVT cam in his 2008 Sierra Denali. Most people recommended removing the VVT, but thought we would run it with it to see how it feels, which is pretty good. Installed new phaser, phaser limiter, double valve springs, and hardened pushrods.
Cam Specs: 227/239, .629"/.629", 113 LSA Has Speed Engineering long tubes with their header back kit with dumps before the axle. Obnoxiously loud! Also did the flex fuel pump, FPCM flash, 50# injectors, and flex fuel sensor. It ran 13.8 with headers, Circle D 3200 stall, and a flex fuel tune I did for him. Going to the track tomorrow to get some new track times. Start up: Idle: |
Sounds awesome. Can't wait to hear what it runs.

Always wondered how the aftermarket handled tooning VVT setups. Nothing like some polydimensional VE calibration to work on during the wee hours of the morning...

in for track times too, sounds great

Sounds amazing! Is this AWD or 2wd? 3.42 or 3.73 gears? Any weight reduction for the 13.8 run?
|
First pass was a 13.10. Going to take some fuel out and see if we can squeak into the 12's.
Second pass was a 12.93 and be broke out of the bracket. |
Impressive. What MPH?

105.66 and a 1.87 sixty. I think with a little more work on the tune and a better launch, maybe 12.7's? The K&N cold air kit is a restriction. Down to 96 KPA at the top of third gear. Going to do a 4" intake and cartridge MAF which should help as well. |
