06 LQ9 Improvement

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening :wavey:

I am a new member in this great forums and I am looking for some help
with regards to improving my LQ9 performance.

What I have is a 2-doors 2010 GMC Sierra
+ LQ9 swap
+ Comp Cam
+ PRC Cylinder Heads & CNC Ported
+ Pacesetter LT
+ Corsa Sport Catback
+ MSD Wires (Soon)

The intake filter and intak manifold are the stock ones.
I have two choices and I need to know which one is more effecient
and will give me the better performance with improvement in fuel
economy
. Currently, fuel consumption is crazy I hardly can reach 460Km
with one tank. So, the choices of improvement are:

1- Install LS3 Intake manifold with LS3 throttle
2- Install AFE SI Air intake + Throttle Spacer

Which one do you recommend? and is there any other better way
to improve the performance and air intake?

Thank you guys in advance :thumb:

LS3 intake parts wont fit your truck. They have different shaped intake ports on the cylinder heads.

Throttle body spacers are some kind of sick joke... dont waste your time. If you are running the 78mm intake that came on the LQ9 you would get more power out of the 87mm intake that came on your 5.3.

I have installed an AFE filter, MSD wires, and NGK spark plugs as well I read
few articles about the throttle body spacer for vortec enginers. As you said,
its a joke and waste of money.

With regards to the 5.3 intake, at the time I purshased the new 6.0 engine
the mechanic who did the swap told me that the intake mainfold of the 5.3
won't fit on the 6.0 and he guaranteed that, so I had to spend 400 dollars to
by a new stock intake for it. However, I still have the 5.3 intake manifold at
home.

Thank you for your help ;)

Your 5.3 intake should fit the heads no problem. The Lq9 has 317 heads and your 5.3 has 243 or 799 heads that are almost the exact same head as the 317 but with smaller combustion chambers.
