Default Yukon/Eaton posi hold up under 500+rwhp?

I've been on contact with Eastcoast Gear supply and Randy's world wide and they both say the clutch based LSD's won't hold up to my power (500+rwhp )and suggest the truetrac. I know it sounds stupid go go against what two big companies suggest, but my issue with the truetrac is it doesn't work in reverse (when backing up a boat trailer or snowmobile trailer this would suck) and on very slippery surface it won't lock without a dab of brakes.

I know the 10 bolt that most of the trucks here use isn't a strong axle so no matter what you use its gonna go , but I'm wondering how the lsd's in the 9.5 14B are holding up as these are the differentials I would use with a ring gear adapter kit for my 9.76 12B.

As soon as I bridged 500rwhp I spit out 2 Yukon/Eaton style posi's. Put a Detroit Locker in with a TA Performance cover and my problems disappeared.

My issue with the Eaton posi in a 8.6 is breaking spider gears. The clutches seem to hold up fine. I believe they are set up loose from the factory for smoother operation causing some slop in the center gears when engaged. The last time I rebuilt it, I used steel clutches (originally had carbon fiber) and shimmed it per the Tom's Differentials tutorial. Now it engages at lower throttle input but seems to be holding up fine.

With that said, I wouldn't hesitate to use one in a 9.76 with 500whp.

Running high 10s@124 in a '78 TA with an Eaton clutch 28 spline posi. Jumped to 30 splines in a new project. Same axle bearings as a 12 bolt and many 12 bolts with 33 splines are getting hit with lots of HP.

Also of the newer versions use powdered metal(like Gm connecting rod) spiders. Spiders are a weak spot in many Posis. Tom even has better heat treated ones different tooth numbers for many units as well as Moroso.

A locker can be rough engaging and unengaging, I think esp on slippery surfaces. Not too many guys turning corners use them.

so all of the full size trucks running down in the 9 second range with only a replaced carrier should be worried? most components on a Toyota are stronger than a chevy.
