Who Builds a Good 4L60 (3000 budget)
Looking for a built 4L60 for a mild LQ9 (cam headers etc) build going in a scsb. Truck is weekly driven, street only, 60 year old man that doesn't abuse his stuff... anymore . Not wanting to do the 80 swap just wanting a decent 4l60 trans/converter for maybe the occasional burnout... you know the fun stuff. I don't feel comfortable putting the fresh LQ9 behind the original tired 135,000 transmission. I have 3,000 budget set aside for the trans, don't know anyone local, so need some advice.

There's a $200 mail-in rebate from GM on all transmissions until June 30th, too.

Thanks, I checked out their level II and indeed it fits inside my budget with just enough for a converter. I've been wanting a converter with a billet front cover to get the larger diameter lockup clutch lining, man they are expensive though. Yank, Circle D have a re-worked TMBX Trailblazer non billet around $500.
Roadrunner converters have a billet 10" 3200 rated to 900hp for $650 shipped. I think I'm going to go with the RR. I have a new in the box cheap 10" 3200 from Chicago Performance I was going to use with the OEM trans until it failed. No way it's going in the new trans.
I bought the 2000 in 02 and was surprised to see it had a GM reman when I pulled it. I'm sure it was probably a warranty replacement as I bought the truck from the GMC dealership.
Need to pressure wash the engine bay this weekend
