Default Is this what i need?

I have on 01 chevy silverado 1500 2wd. it has the 5.3 and it does show the g80 code in glove box so i assume it is the right glove box (my truck is a rebuilt). I had the trans rebuilt thinking it may be the problem and it was time for it anyway i think (230k). has the 4l60. now, i am a one wheel wonder. anytime there is wet pavement or i get in gravel I am pretty much stuck. only one wheel has any power. and of course the awful grinding and clunking. If i am going downhill and just let off the gas and let it coast, then when i get back on the gas i have 0 power. It's like something in the rear just doesn't go together but i can hold the brakes a bit and it will get power again, with a loud thud of course. Put it in neutral, same story. It shouldn't catch, just coast but it clunks and tried to catch. So i am assuming again that it had to be the rear and I have a Grenade -80. The truck needs to last me another 2-3 years until I get out of nursing school and buy a new one and I can't stand the fact of replacing junk with junk and that seems to be the case with the g80. I called one of the best mechs. around here and he said if i brought him the parts that he would charge 150 to swap the carrier. I just want to make sure I get all of the parts first before I take it to him and hold up a spot in his garage waiting for parts. Do you all think it's just the carrier or is it something else or something else plus more (R&P too). here is what from the research I have done is what I need. Please let me know something and thanks in advance!

yeah just called Ron and got the tru trac and a master install kit for $490 shipped or a 4.10 or 3.73 gear master install and carrier for 600 shipped. Should I got ahead and replace the R&P or just see how it looks in there first?

I'd go ahead and do a gear swap while you are in there. Odds are that the Grenade 80 chewed up some of the teeth on the ring n pinion. Plus if you are going to be taking everything out, why not go ahead and upgrade while you are in there so you aren't paying for labor twice.
