Thought I'd post a picture of my final solution to connect to the internal water/oil tranny cooler in my 2005.

I bought 2 Earls AT985006 fittings, which are -6 AN to -6 ORB (9/16-18). They fit into the internal cooler perfectly, but they didn't seem like they would hold it against the inside of the end tank like the factory fittings did with the large spring washers.

So the factory fittings are staked to keep the washers on...if you just set them in a socket and tap them quick with a hammer, they pop free of the washers, which are steel and were undamaged by the staking/removal.

I chucked the Earls fittings in a lathe and matched the diameter and depth past the o-ring that the factory fittings had.

Now when I screw the fittings in I just need to hold the washer in place since my fittings aren't staked, once they're tight, they seal to the internal cooler with the o-ring, and they pull the internal cooler out against the end tank just like the factory fittings did.

Hey guys, getting ready for stall/cooler upgrade for my 06 single cab. My truck does not come with an auxiliary cooler from the factory. I'm having issues finding the stock inlet and outlet hard lines from the factory. I think I might go this route and eventually convert to braided lines to keep it cheaper for now. Where can I find stock inlet and outlets? I only seem to be able to find one or the other. I considered the junkyard but I'm concerned they might be corroded. I know this is an older thread but there is tons of info in here.

Well, I got lucky and found it. I've found this but I'm open to other options as well if I'm overlooking something.

Those are oil cooler lines, not transmission

Sure is. Dammit. I might just say screw it and do braided. Seems easier than trying to find a factory GM part

Pretty sure GM doesn't offer those lines anymore. Might try Inline Tube located in Shelby Twp, MI

The part numbers are 15809058 and15809053.
Rock Auto and Amazon have them in stock.
At Rock Auto put in your year, model, etc. and look under "Transmission Automatic" > "Cooler Lines"

Catalog for reference:

The Factory Aux transmission cooler kit is still available from GM. Comes complete with new lines you need. You can sell the new GM cooler for like $50 There over $100 New from the dealer for just the cooler. Then get the 40K cooler and brackets.

Well, received my cooler in the mail yesterday. Going to use the supplied hose to the return side of the hard lines. Later down the road once I throw some more goodies on the truck and need transmission upgrades then I'll go full braided lines.
