It wasn't shifting I don't think. I came around a corner, gave it a little gas, heard a clunk that sounded like drivetrain slop, gave it a little more gas, and got the grinding noise. Engine revved up without me going any faster when the grinding started.
But you're right, at this point it's all speculation, we can go back and forth on this forever but won't really know until I get under there and start taking stuff apart.

Is the diff OK(you said the problem was associated with cornering)? Did the T-case indicator show that it was in neutral? Did you try rolling it with only the rear shaft disconnected? Or did you have to remove both before it would move?

I don't think its the diffs. He was able to pull it up onto the hook with the ds's disconnected. It rolls when the TC and tranny are taken out of the equation.
Congradulations! You have just been inducted to the Busted-*** Transmission Truck Club of AZ. You'll be happy to know that desTRUCKtive, our founding member, is doing quite well with his 80e, onyx is on his 2nd 60e and mine is collecting dust.
YAY!!!
Hopefully its just the t-case, but then again if its not.........T56?!?

Yep, if it's the TC I'll just replace that for now, then look into the T56 at a later time. I don't think my trans will handle the LQ9 anyway.. If it's the tranny I don't want to put any more into it, so I'll definitely be looking hard into the T56.
