Default Torque Converter Question

Hey, got a quick question.

I took the stock converter out of my 2002 2wd Silverado w/ 4.8/4L60E. My buddy has a 1995 2wd Silverado. Best I can tell its a 60 too. He needs a new converter. Will my stock one work in his truck?

Thanks

More than likly, yes. I dont think there were any changes in the 4l60e... or not enough to signifigantly hinder you putting a newer stall into an older vehicle..

however, i'd check with a dealership or a tranny shop to specify.

I think they changed them in 97. Not sure if its the tc or not but I'm pretty sure they changed. I"m in the process of finding a problem short of like that out now.

The 02 converter won't work in the 95 truck both have 4L60E transmissions, but they made changes in the bellhousing and flywheel that require a different converters, for the later model trucks.
