Tires tires tires

well the tires that came w/ my truck when i first got it were brand new.......but they were POS tires. i got my truck march 1st 2004 and already the tires ar about to go. and i dont do burn outs rotate them evert oil change and dont peel out....usually. but its so easy to spin the tires from a dead stop they have no tracktion....from the "getgo" when i first got my truck. anyways i need some new tires. dont want any high performanc street tires dont wanna spend 200 bills on one tire. i got the stock 16" rims. was looking into goodyear eagle gt 2's. you think 285/60/16 would be to wide of a tire for stock rims? i want a street truck look. so i wanted the widest possible tires w/o it looking retarted. any info plz give inputs. thanks

The Goodyear's are pretty good! I think the 285/60 will look pretty nice im pretty sure they wont stick as bad were its noticable.

Since you are not looking for a set of performance tire I would recommend Michelin tires. I have had a really good luck with them and I will go back to Michelin once they come out with some more tires to fit 20" wheels.

I just ordered a set of 275/60/16 Toyo Proxies S/T for my truck. I guess I will see how they look/fit and grip in a few days ;)

Oh, and they were $101 + shipping.

I am running the Toyos as well and i love the shit out of them. But im also running 275/40/20's all around. But they do hook fuckin good. I got mine for $400 mounted and ballanced.

I was about to post a thread on the same topic. Which size is everyone going with on stock rims? 255/70 or 275/60? And any other good street truck tires other than the toyos?

IMO, the best tire for the money, is Toyo Proxes 275/60/16. They're a little shorter than stock, but look awesome and handle bad-ass. I bought mine for $112 each at Firestone. I'm going to buy a set of 275/60/17s pretty soon.
