If he doesn't drive a lot, I'd probably be on the fence. I know an 80E with a shift kit will hold more than 450, but $1400 for a trans. that's as stout as yours is a pretty good deal.

I know for a fact a stock 80 with a transgo will hold some power behind 4000 pounds and some
N20.....

Where did u get a fully built th400 for 1400?

Where did u get a fully built th400 for 1400?
i wanted to get Rossler, but he was over a month behind. didn't want to wait, so went w/ TCI from Jegs. TCI TH400 manual valve body vasco 300 shaft. got it on sell a little it may be a little more now, not sure. Rossler is a little cheaper even and builds some a tough *** tranny. his are under $1300 w/o brake.

damm not bad but do know wonder whats the hp rating at...
tci tech guy told me 1200hp. they don't list a rating on their competition transmissions, so i called before i bought mine. btw that transmission looks bad, but a lot more $

I ran a ATI TH400 with ALL the bells and whistles behind my nitrous big block in my brothers 92 rclb, nothing like dropping the trans brake and blowing the tires off as long as you want

There are alot of people on this board that have pushed serious power through junkyard 4l80e's.
