Default Those of you with Converters.....

So I recently burnt up my baby TB stall.

I ended up getting a new Converter through Phoenix Transmissions here in Weatherford, TX.

I really wanted to go with a Circle D from Chris but im in a pickle and I just didn't have the time frame since it was a last minute deal

Anyways... I got a 3200 stall with anti-ballooning plate for NX later on. Brand new cost me $400 with 2 year warranty.
I really need at least a 3600 stall but time and money doesn't allow for it right now. Plus Greg at Phoenix Transmissions said he will credit me towards a new one at a later time. Can't beat that!!

Down to install, I plan on doing the job on saturday at a buddies shop. Lift and trans jack FTMFW!!!!

As far as putting the stall in I know i need to fill up the converter with fluid before attaching it to the trans.
However, i know some guys have to shim the converter when putting it together. How do ya go about measuring for the right length and what size shims are needed if it calls for it.

you dont need to shim if it is the right veter. should be plug and play.

Not true, biggest mistake most people make. I had to shim my Yank, both times I installed it, different thickness needed each time. if it is in or out too far, it will take the pump out. Most just use quality washers to shim it. I think 1/8" is what is recommended, plus or minus 1/16" . No more than 3/16".

Ive never had to shim anyone mine and ive had circle d,PI and yank. Same as the ones ive install in other peoples trucks. Btw still on stock trans 105k and counting

Mine checked out just fine! It still didn't fix my problem though :/

I have a "built" 4L65E trans and mine didn't last.... count your blessings man!
