is there a reason to bypass trans lines to rad?

I can't believe how much you guys worry about low transmission temps down there. Stock trucks rarely get over 100*F (TFT's) up here in the winter unless towing a heavy load. Now, if your climate is -40*F, like in Fairbanks or up on the North Slope, you slap a grille cover on and you're still good to go.
I just looked it up, DEX III ATF gels at -40*F(which is also -40*C...). DEX VI was developed to take the gel point even colder. I didn't find the gel point of DEX VI. Maybe I'll look for it tomorrow in my spare time.
Cold TFT's don't kill transmissions (unless the fluid gels), heat kills them. Your torque converter doesn't lock until mid 70's TFT's because it helps bring the engine up to normal operating temp quicker. That gets the PCM into closed loop sooner. That nets better MPG, which the automakers need for the EPA. Your lockup torque converter is part of your emissions control system.........sort of.
