I ran a TH400 in my truck for a while. Used the stock crossmember but it was behind a gen 1 small block chevy. I used a lokar floor shifter for it.

A close friend is running one in his 04 step side. Found a factory crossmember that actually worked but couldnt use driveshaft. So we measured and the length matched up to a mustang driveshaft.

Im planning on running the th400 behind 3.73 or 4.10 gears with 28 inch tall tires for the track and 30 inch tires for the street
