Tahoe Rear Air Bags?

I'm looking to replace the rear coil springs with air bags. Are there any "drop in" replacement air bags? I want to both lower the vehicle (3"-4" in rear...front will have 2" drop spindles) as well as improve the ride (far too stiff with stock rear springs).

ttt....anyone?

Don't know for sure, but I imagine it is similar to the front on trucks where you will need cups in order to bolt the bags in.

air ride tech makes some things you might want to take a look at! call them up. When i had my yukon i was going to do shockwaves and sleve bags just to drop it but the air management was costly!

Just pulled it up, art has the setup for $500

But like said, air management is whats going to cost you. By the time you do fittings, lines, tank(s), compressor(s), valves, wiring, etc

I know long term it will cost me to go "digital", but for now I plan to just put a line with a schrader valve and fill the system with air from a compressor. This way I can set the "spring rate" to something comfortable for now. One step at a time.

now are you talking helper bags or real deal bags. I would never run bags as my main source of suspension without any control! You get a leak and you are screwed depending on your tire size. sure you can drive to a service station and fill it up but its a pita! Just save and get a compressor and tanks and some valves to make it function properly.IMO

I'm talking about "real deal bags" ;-) . I thought about that (air leak), but by the same idea, what about your tires? Tires can loose their air yet we don't worry about them. I agree not ideal but it's a start in the direction.

You can't really set a spring rate. As you increase pressure, it raises the rear, and as you decrease pressure, it lowers the rear. And I agree, I wouldn't run it off a schrader for the bags. Yes tires can loose pressure, but its not the same. With the bags, you are going to have more fittings in which can loose pressure.

If money is an issue, just use lowering springs as they will be cheap and reliable.

It really isnt that bad to run 2 valves (fill/dump) a couple lines, tank (if you dont want a compressor than dont. lol) and fittings. maybe $200 more... (if you shop around)

Go pickup a TRUCKIN, or SPORTTRUCKS magazine and look through it.. MINI TRUCKIN usually has ALOT of air ride stuff in it.
