Yesterday it was 93 with heat index of 116, today It was 98. Didnt hear the index today but it had to be ridiculous. Not the most ideal conditions to be working all day under a vehicle! Hopefully it cools down or rains tomorrow, but either way I am finishing it up.

Here are some pics of the shifter installed. I still need to install both the lower rubber boot and the stock Gibbs boot but once I do that it should look almost stock. There will only be a little strip of carpet missing in front of the shifter about 1.5" wide. I plan on replacing the carpet with a new one for an automatic truck so I can cut out just what I need and it will look 100% stock.
Pics of the entire swap and a few more details are in this thread.

Did a little more work on the shifter tonight. I am dropping it off tomorrow to have the new gears installed so I figured I should get it finished up on the inside. Here are some pics of how it looks. Eventually I will get a whole new floor carpet from an automatic truck so there wont be that light gray strip in front, but I dont think it looks too bad in the mean time. Beside from the fact I need to vacuum it out, got a little dirty during the swap...
Cut a piece of sheet metal to cover the main front hole.
Made a small dimple and covered it in foam to run my wideband cable through instead of drilling a hole and using a grommet cus the wideband connector is so big.
Used an f-body lower boot and screwed it to the floor. Used some grey universal automotive carpet I had laying around to cover the plate.
Put my stock Joe Gibbs leather boot over top to finish it off.
Finished it off with the 6 speed **** I had from the Camaro I used to have. Never thought I would be using it in a truck

Thanks for the compliments!
I still havent driven it too much. I got the 4.88's in and man that made this thing fun to drive! They are perfect, glad I didnt go with 4.56's. Now first is about the same as it was with the NV and 3.73's; and the close ratios make acceleration pretty nuts. I came down an on ramp and punched it and before I knew it I was up to 100, this is a whole new truck! Hitting third at 5500rpm feels awesome. Plus I can throw it in 6th and cruise at about 1800rpm at 70. I am very pleased with the results.
Not sure about gas mileage. Since its not my daily driver I dont even really keep track. I know its not good because I usually have 'fun' when I drive, but with the double overdrive Im sure it would be an improvement if you drove it nice.
