Stock spindles?
Needing to be 100% positive these are stock before I order control arms. They look to be stock to me from seeing pics of mcgaughys. Does mcgaughys only supply 2" drop spindles? 01 RCSB 2Wd. Thanks guys

Yea those look to be oem spindles. Companies only sell 2" lowering spindles from what i know.

My problem is that my axle is on top of the springs, so to say a 6" rear drop. If I measure middle of the front hub to the bottom of the front fender on my truck it is 16.5" or so and a stock truck I just measured is 19". I would think that my truck would be give or take 2.5"/6" drop but when I was telling all this to Mike at DJm to order lowers for the front to fix my ride/alignment/bump steer he said I need 4" drop in front to sit level. Well from what I measured and see the front is all stock with drop springs? Could my truck be a 2/6 drop and be level?

Stock Height Measurements
Front-19.5 Rear-21.5 So you're actually at 3" in front. 4/6 actually has a little rake from what I've always seen, 4/7 tends to be level in most cases. My experience with DJM lowers was bad. I had horrible bumpsteer, never could get it aligned but then again I was like at 5" in front so I needed an alignment kit. Switched to 2" spindles and lost all bumpsteer but lost some turning radius but gained that back with some grinding to the LCA. Other people have had great experiences with DJM, I didn't. |
I've heard about no steering with the spindles. But I've heard about grinding to fix a well. So you are suggesting that I need to lower it 3"? In that case I would rather have the stock springs and 3" drop control arms instead of spindles and 1" drop springs. But at what point would it need the alignment bushings? This is a hard descision. If the 3" control arms are a little too low I guess I could put another rubber spring isolator under the spring to gain a 1/2" back right?

Are you trying to achieve 4"? If so, just do 2" spindles and 2" coils. It will align up great and you can always get an alignment kit for peace of mind.

Just called bell tech and the part number on the spring is a 2" drop spring... Now I'm real lost lol. I just want a true alignment with a square tire and no bump steer

I think after all the thinking I am going to do stock springs and 3" control arms. As long as someone doesn't chime in with me needing 2" that's how I'll roll. I am wanting to stay about the same, if not just a hair higher to be at the most, level. My left front tire does rub a hair and the right doesnt

3/6 is gonna have Cali lean which will not be level
