Stock 4L80E Swap vs RPM 4L65E Level7

As the title says it, woundering which will be stronger and worth going for, for turbocharged RCSB truck? Talking about stock 4L80E swap, maybe with transgo shift kit, only.

Upto what rwhp should one worry about 4L65E level 7 in DD truck weighing 4500Ibs.

This is what I did after I blew up my Built 60 (billet shafts drums yada yada) just about done with the swap, but im very excited to drive it.

Once you see the internals of a 80e it's easy to see why they hold up better, also it has to do with the design of how each gear operates.

Rpm LVL 5 60d didn't hold up very long in my truck , neither did the two rebuilds of it after the first time , 3-4 clutches ate up fast every time.

Went to a stockish rebuild of an 04 80e by Mark Buck and haven't looked back !
Love the 80e , holds power and shifts wayyyy better than any 60e ever could .

A shift kit and updated sprag with good Borg Warner hi energy clutches will go a long way for ya .

Don't buy into a built 60e , they don't hold up in a powerful heavy truck . 80e FTW.

Seems like a junkyard 80E with a shift kit can usually outlast any built 60/65E.

And save you a pocket full of $$$ Wish I would have just gone to the 80 the first time.
