I had a 02 RCSB Silverado with 5.3 and 4L60E and I went through 3 (under warranty) before I got rid of the truck.
All I had on the truck was K&N CAI, single in dual out Flowmaster and a Jet Hand Held Tuner. I was lucky enough to make friends with the transmision guy at the dealership and as long as it was flashed back to the stock settings before bringing it in he would get it replaced

ill make this quick; 80e is what you would want in a truck. I have owned 2 60e trucks and replaced about 5 trannies. I have a 80e swap in my Tahoe and I'm on 80e #2 after the swap and welded these clutches together out of a 30k mile 85e. I have 0 torque management. This all was with 4k stall & 3.73 gears, with 20s and 32'' tire. I now have 4.88s, and rebuilding my 07 85e which is still driving and runing people as it slips. My 1st junkyard 80e slipped and had no reverse! the same tranny still made my truck tow twice its weight 3000 miles cross country.
imo 80e
imo 80e
