It's not going to last for much longer. Did my 6.0 swap in late '11, and I was told that the truck is on a MODERATE tune b/c of the trans not being about to handle the powa. So today it took a crap.

I've had my heavy crew cab set on kill ever since I've had it. Mods in sig. I mud it, several track passes, pulling an 18' trailer with my lifted k5 on 38's on it... Etc it's had it's fair share of abuse. It's never had the tranny fluid changed to my acknowledgement. I know the guy that bought it new off the lot. It has 145,xxx miles. Converter and tru cool were added 5,xxx ish ago.

I don't have much power but I figured it might be worth mentioning.

My 60e has 270 some thousand miles. Still the factory fluid in it. Added a big cooler last year, it used to run 210* everywhere. Now it runs 150*.

This thing has towed 6500 pounds 850 miles running 80+ the whole way. Has been WOT downshifted at least 10k times. Got it so hot once it boiled 2.5 quarts of fluid out. Made about 30 quarter mile passes. It basically gets beat on about everyday somehow.

It still shifts like it did 5 years ago, and takes the abuse with no problems.

no kidding right? mine is stock with a servo and aluminum accumulator pistons currently @78xxx. it has probably 30-40 1/4mile passes and gets driven pretty hard on the street as well. true cool 40 waiting to install and future plan is a pb lv2 i think. i guess only time will tell how long it lasts after the heads/fast...

I have a healthy 5.3 and an sickly 60E. Classic case of 2-3 rev limiter at WOT.

I think its funny when some guys say they blew up their unit when in reality it was a clutch or band failure. IMO when its blown up a hard part is broke like an output shaft or a planet. In a properly built unit these failures should not exist. Just my 2 cents.
Good to know. When would you expect sonnax to release these?
