I'm on my 4th 60e in 6 years... This onehas about 30k miles on it, 20k were the 5.3 with about 10 Bottles of a 100 shot then a few 175 shots towards the end. Now it's behind my 6.0 and I think 1st is starting to slip in the top end. But hey it's lasted threw some abuse.

Not an issue here (handled a 200 shot on a 408 in an AWD platform). Before I freshen'd it up on my last build, it saw about 20, 11 second passes and many spirited street encounters. FLT unit! I had no reason to go with an 80.

Im going to tell you guys even though the thread isnat asking for it.

It seems the stock trans with shift kits seem to last longer than built units, ever wander why? Because the stock clutches are better than most of the aftermarket junk clutches people think they have to have .

Borg warner Hi Energy are the way to go .

same here ungoddly amount of passes!! from the ecsb into the rcsb seen over 500rwhp and a dozen 600+ rwhp quite a few times, fixing to see more then likely double that

As of today the 60E took a crap. I knew this was coming. This trans was not made to support the new set up, and it was just a matter of time.

In my experience in building these units it seems that the 3-4 clutch is the main issue I saw in my built units. There is a new drum in the works from sonnax that has not been released yet. Pretty sure the idea behind this product is to address the 3-4 clutch issues. Like anything else I think they are working the bugs out of it at this point. Don't know. I think its funny when some guys say they blew up their unit when in reality it was a clutch or band failure. IMO when its blown up a hard part is broke like an output shaft or a planet. In a properly built unit these failures should not exist. Just my 2 cents.

Did you not just have that thing freshened up when you dropped the LQ9 in?

I'm still running a 60E in my big truck and the first build was done by Vince and took about 5k miles of abuse with a handful of track passes. Only had to have it torn down because a converter pumped metal through it. If I ever finish the N20 install, I plan on pumping another 150hp through it and running deep 12's on 37s. We'll she if she holds...
