If you have never installed a Ujoint, then take it somewhere. Much less headache.
Ive done a few ujoints in the past but this last time i couldnt get the cups to budge in the yokes with a Arbor press. Took it to the powertrain place and $50 i had 3 new ujoints and they installed them.
The 4wd trucks use the yoke that will fit the 80E. My buddys 1998 truck was a 4wd. Took the yoke off and put it on a 2wd DS and it fit perfect.

Search on YouTube on how to change a u joint.. Takes 3-4 minutes.. Just use a short socket bigger than the cap, any big short bolt in a pair of vise grips and a hammer. If you have factory ujoints you'll need some kinda torch to melt the plastic around the caps. Get a new ujoint as well.

Resurrect this one from the dead.... I couldn't find any other information about the dimensions of the yoke. Denny's has their "Long Barrel" listed at 7 5/8" and in order for this to work with the swap, you have to cut off 5/8 of an inch. Making the yoke, from center of the U-joint to end of the barrel 7". Does this sound right? SO if I have a 7.5" long yoke, I only need to cut off at 1/2"? Does anyone have an end to end dimension of this so it's all in one thread? I'll post it when I'm done, of course, but just curious if anyone has it out there just to be sure this is going right.
