Single to Dual piston rear calipers

Is it possible to do and if so what is all needed to do it? New rotors and calipers?

i know ssbc used to make a kit to do it... but what do you need that for??

rear brakes really dont do nearly as much as fronts...

if the fronts are stock dont bother... go with the ssbc upgrade to 3 piston fronts... and 14" rotors, and that will save you some weight and it'll stop much better than you ever thought possible

ssbc brakes

I was just curious. I need to replace one of the rear calipers due to the stupid bleeder plug won't loosen to allow it to be bleed properly. I just put on SS braided brake lines and since I couldn't bleed that one caliper properly I had to compress it as far as it would go and bleed it by loosening the line connection. I don't know if that got all the air out or not, but the brakes are working.

I would love to be able to put that SSBC setup on, but unfortunatly I can't afford that anytime soon, especially since I would have to get bigger wheels for it to fit. I guess I just need more money...:jest:

well sorry i didnt understand... btw the way you didnt ujnfortunately will not work... because when you loosen the line you are not getting the air out of the calipe... only the line.

sorry man.

btw how did th grille situation work out?

truckmann 03-04-2007 11:58 PM

ya that's why I had to compress the piston all the way to at least get enough of the air out of the caliper to make it driveable, until I can get a new caliper.

I am sending that cheap ass POS grille back to them at their expense and hopfully I will get my money back. I already orderd another one that is suppose to be new OE surplus and not a lightweight aftermarket cheapo. Here is a link to it--linky
I hope it is a lot better than the first one I got.

youlle be ok till you get the new caliper...

i hope the new grill is cool... it looks cool.... thats the one thing i hate about ebay is you never know....

hope it works out bro...

did you get the quick connects for your radiator??

truckmann 03-05-2007 12:41 AM

I did get the quick connects and got it all hooked up. Those little aluminum things where a little over $20 a piece from the dealer. I am glad I did the oil cooler stuff, the e-fans don't ever seem to come on anymore even after idling for awhile. :) They used to run all the time while idling. Here is a pic of the final install with the QD's.

I believe Scream swapped to the 2 pistons in the rear. I don't remember what all was involved, but either pm him or do a search.
