Default Shocks/Brakes Idea's

So it's way past due for some new shocks and brakes for the truck. There is soooo many choices though. First off my truck is lowered 2 inches with DJM shackles in the back, stock in the front. I've been looking at KYB and Bilsteins. What do you guys recommend? Can i use stock ride height shocks in the back still or should i get some belltechs?

Next is brakes. I'm needing pad and rotors. Not looking for some flashy slotted and/or drilled rotors. Just need some good quality parts since the last time i changed them was 8 months ago (Never buying from O' Reillys again). They are already wore slick out and the rotors are rusted terribly all over. Where my truck was only made one year it is a hard time finding anything that will direct fit it. Would the brakes setup on a 01 extended cab 4x4 be the same as mine?

hey bud. When you go to the parts stores have them look up parts for an 03 silverado ss. I actually just went throungh this with a friend of mine at work. And would just suggest stock replacement rotors and some good top o the line pads. Even some EBC's maybe.

I've got KYBs in my truck, lowered 2 inches, and it rides great.

Be careful on the brake rotors though, if you are going to do the same thing with the SSS part #s. The 03s came with two different size rears. Dual piston rear calipers got a thicker rotor and will not work with a single piston rear caliper...ask me how I know that.

Well it's kyb monomax's for the shocks. As for the brakes are you guys big on GM parts? I can get gm rotors for 47 dollars apiece for the front but for the back it asks me if it's vacuum boost or hydro boost... how can i tell which i have? Also i was gonna go with ebc green stuff pads.

most likely not hrdroboost, usually on bigger trucks. you will have another pump in between the powersteering pump and rack&pinion.

as for the brakes i got my rotors w/ a lifetime warranty at oreillys. as well as there new performance friction pads.

i got pads and rotors and the pads are wore out already and the rotors are rusted so bad theres no metal showing on them anymore. i hate looking at them. i didn't think it was hydroboost. just making sure though. for some reason if it's vacuum boost the rear rotors are 180 apiece but if its hydroboost they are 47 lol. beats me. i hate this crap. i've been looking at rotors and pads for a month now and can't decide on what to get.
