Seeking input dropped kits for 2007 - 2013
 

Finally got a project truck. Plans are to drop it at least 4/6 and add 20s. Would like to have decent suspension. This thing gonna ride okay with drop and flip kit in rear? Anyone used air ride? Would welcome some input.

Flip kit in back with Belltech street performance shocks. Belltech struts up front and some spindles. About as smooth as possible in my opinion. That's what I have.

Since you're lowering an extended cab and the rake isn't as bad as a regular cab like mine, you'll likely be level with a 4/6. Being dropped 6" or more on an ex cab I would also look into either a notch, air bags, or both.

You want it to ride smooth, leave it stock lol.

I've done pretty much every setup under the sun on gmfs trucks and the best ride I had was a nnbs 2/5. Belltech street performance adjustable struts for the front and rear flip and hanger lift for the back. Retained factory turning radius and no bump steer with stock spindles and the back was still high enough that the rear shock travel and angle weren't to drastic. Also I liked the fact that you didn't have to trim off your factory bump stop mounts on the frame.

Maybe I'm just getting old but I'm tired of the ride of slammed and lifted trucks lol.

^^^^X2. Mines 4/7 and if the road aint perfect....... its a bumpy ride. Same setup as slammedsilvy. Ive heard of plenty of people be happy with belltech though.

Hey guys I appreciate the input. Beastmode did you have to notch or were you able to leave the frame alone? I want to do it right but i would rather not cut the frame.

Slammedslvy how big is the notch and which type of bags would you run? Would you run just bags or run air ride kit with compressor?

Did a Belltech 3/5 on my buddies crew cab with belltech street performance shocks all the way around. Rides smooth and didnt require cutting the frame just the removal of the stock bump stop perches.

I can only offer front end advice since I have a Tahoe. The adjustable Belltechs use your factory coil so it's as close to stock as you can get. I'm adding drop spindles in a few days still expecting a pretty decent ride. I'll reply with results.

Did you have to notch your frame or did the flip hangar provide all the drop? Also forgot to mention this is 4W DR. Do you of any potential issues with 4WDR vs 2W DR?
