Default Removing blocks under leafs?

Ok guys. Been looking around and have come across this option to remove the block between the leaf spring and the axle. Couple of questions about this though. The alignment of each way should be the same as the truck will move the same amount (assuming the drop for the block removal is the same as a shackle). I guess the shackle way would be a "body" drop and the other way would be a suspension.....I dunno, pretty much the same thing. Just heard of some people having vibes issues with the block removal, true? Does the shackle give me something that the block removal does not? I took a look underneath and only see a plate which the spring sit on, not a larger block like I expected to see. Is the block only on the 4WDs or something?

So i have come to realize. Ok, I guess no free way to give me that 2" drop in the back then. Thanks.

What would be involved in flipping the axle to the top of the springs? I've heard with some trucks it can be pretty simple, but I dunno about the GM's. If it's possible, that may be a quick way to get a drop in the back. Just an idea.
