Default STORY: Tranny Cooler

I just installed a low dollar ($50) tranny cooler that I purchased with my Fuddle-2800 'verter. I'm actually having some sort of trouble getting the thing to lock up so, you can imagine the amount of heat I'm building up.

The other day (before the cooler install), a 15 minute trip to one place and a cool down of 1 hr, followed by another 15 minute trip led to 213* when I arrived home and hooked up the HPT scanner.

Tonight, I drove to a friends house, and then a bunch of other stops, which ended with a 20 minute drive back home. Hoping to see how the cooler was doing, I hooked up the HPT scanner and the log showed 167*.

Only reason I'm posting something stupid like this is because I've been about **** out of luck as far as getting things to work proper lately.

Sooo, if you are over-heating. Buy a cooler. They are easy to install and definetly cut down on the temps.

Kyle

that's true kyle. i still can't believe how that cooler keeps the tranny temps that low with it slipping and not locking up. also for it being a 9" converter?

Definetly suprised myself. I need to check it out again after driving thru some traffic in this latest heat-wave we've had.

Try driving from AL to TX with the tc not locking in a 5600# truck pulling a trailer with a bike, stock wheels and tires and a 5.3 shortblock on it. That will heat the trans up Thats why I have a 40KGVW trans cooler on mine if I would ahve bought a 20K I would have been stranded.
