Default Would my setup benefit swapping 4.10s to 4.56 s?

I was tossing around the idea of swapping my 4.10s to 4.56s. My dyno graph shows I make power till about 6700 and I normally shift around 6900-7000 at the track. My track times are in my sig. Also my 60 ft should get a little better due to some recent tune adjustments.

Just curious what everyone thinks

whats your trap speed? if its under the peak rpm speed of 6700 by lets say 200-400 rpms rpms or more then yes you'd benefit from 4:56s

That day at Crandall when you through on some 26" slicks. If i remember right you said they did not help at all. Was that due to traction only?
Because that is roughly what 4.56's would do.

Ya I remember that but I was wondering is the higher gear would allow me to shift higher maybe.

Like Skeet said if you cross the trap under your shift point upping the gear ratio would help. I don't really get how new gears would help with you shifting higher though.

going with a higher gear wouldn't allow you to shift higher, same rpm but lower speed, you would have more bottom end though with the higher gear

blackgmc let me correct myself on what i was asking, i meant what is your rpms crossing the traps? this will determine ( or help determine ) if a gear swap would help or not

Looking over the logs i am about at 5500rpm, it is kinda hard to tell since i run 28 slicks and my speedo is setup for 29 tire...

either way 26 or 28 you still need gear to get to your powerband across the traps, so yes 4:56 gears would benefit you.. and if you cross the traps at 6k or below i would stick with the 28 inch slick but 26's should get the job done just gotta make them work.. it now becomes all in the suspension, putting the power to the ground is the hardest part, i run 4:88s with a 28" tire, quik kept telling me not to up the tire like most were saying, basically dont band aid the situation but correct it, basically since i was 4 linked make the 4 link work for what it is.. so i did even though i still slipped on the line ( need bead locks or screw rim to tire ) he made sense, i am now upping to a 29" tire only cause i run nitrous now..
