Rear end problems

Just wandering if anyone has ever had this problem before I just put in a trutac posi and 4.11 gears on Wednesday and already on Friday the rearend is whining and making noises already. Took the diff cover off and the gear and pinion are tore up any one heard if this. They are USA standard gears

Who installed them? Got any pictures of the gears? That could help figure out what exactly went wrong.

Sounds to me like they might not have been set up right.

My buddy who races dragsters did it. supposedly they were set up right they might be faulty gears. I dont have any pics that's what he told me its at his shop

Pics of the damage would help. How long did they last?

Most likely a bad install. Faulty gears is very rare.

The whining sound leads me to believe that either the pinion was set too deep into the ring gear, ring gear shimmed too tight to the pinion, or too tight on the backlash. But Im no professional and just going off what I remember being taught so I could be completely wrong.

If the gear and pinion are tore up, I would say it was a bad install....REAL BAD....

Did you break the gears in properly?
