powertrax lock right

I alright I have a 10 bolt rear end w/ open diff. So I ordered a powertrax lock right part number 754-1921. I know I have 30 spline axles. After it was ordered and shipped the guy asked for vehicle info. when I told him I had disc brakes he said that I had an 8.6......duh... and that this would not fit b/c it is for an 8.5 rear. He said for another 100 that he will send me an 8.5 carrier w/ bearings and shims. My question is will or will not this fit?

If your going to pay the money for the locker plus a carrier your up to the cost of a lsd.

Send the powertrax junk back. IMO

those lockrights are kinda noisy till you get use to them I had one in my old trock and everyone thought my truck was messed up. put you never had to worry about spinning one tire.

3 of my friends have had them, all 3 failed with very low miles. I was in one truck when it started fucking up, it would lock in and out then it would unlock both tires somehow and free wheel then slam in, needless to say it went right home and was pulled for spiders the next day.

mine never acted up but it would chew up the back tires.

So I am assuming even though the guy says it is for an 8.5 rear and says it wont fit my 8.6....that is WILL fit. That is all I need to know. I can stand the noise.......I will just make my exhaust louder. I just need to know that this will fit my 8.6.

i have a powertrax no-slip unit in my malibu that i have driven the hell out of without any problems for about 25k miles.... The lock-right is designed more for offroad use, and isn't really suited for the extra stress the pavement puts on your drivetrain..... I love all the clicking and popping that my no-slip makes.... It's kinda cool to hear the mechanisms at work.... :)
