I hope u didn't think I was dissing you. That was the 1st time I ever member seein that in writing. I thought the bigger the rotor/ caliper setup, it'd surely stop quicker. I appreciate the info.
This was quite the read. If I understand correctly, the info on line pressure means those braided Russell lines that claim " a firmer pedal", are not really effective?
IDK if I'm more confused or have greater understanding. This is some complicated stuff after all.
I do know this. If I spend over $3k on some big Baers for the front, & whatever for the rears, I'll be really disappointed if they don't stop like I want ( or expect!) them too. I want to go w/ a 14" 2pc. 6 piston setup. Slotted & cross-drilled.
I know that means a 18" wheel & tire( more weight,...& $). If I go bigger than 14", say to a 15", now that adds more wtg, $, & I gotta run 20s. I want go & whoa too. I don't need bling unless it's to fit in BIG BRAKES!!
When u stand on a Z06, it brakes now. That's what I want!
Curious why w/ that big of rim, u didn't go straight to a plus size brake setup?
Nahhhhh, I know you weren't dissing me!!! The thing is when I was looking in to these brake kits, I was just like a lot of you on this.........to much money, research, hassell.......I just told myself "you, when you get a cheater bar to break loose a bolt or nut, then why wouldn't the same concept be applied to this. Use the brake system but give it a bigger rotor in which the same system could be utilized and get more brake tourqe out of it...... I could be wrong on my theroy, but let me tell you guys, I can stop my truck on a dime and give you a nickels change...
Just trying to help!!!!!!
Your welcome on the info guys!!!!!!!!!

60lbs isnt bad at all. I work at a GM dealership and Ive have trouble lifting the stock GM 20's or Caddy 22's. Those things are heavy. When I had my 18's they were around 60lb, your fine. As for coating I bought the ones that didnt have the coating. At the time I didnt know they had 2 different ones. Mine rusted around the hub areas, but I painted them so it wasnt a big deal.

Pics? Did u do a thread on it? If so, I must've missed it.
Supersub, not everyone rolls on a 22! Those must be ~ 75#/ corner.
This really sucks. I think my truck had its feelings hurt, talkin bout these big brakes! Since 1st replying to this thread, I have a light squeal now. I really want to go big brakes, but can't swing the brakes, wheels, & tires. I had hoped to do next yr. I didn't want to spend any on my stock brakes, since I planned to go straight to an upgrade. I figure $1200 for some 18" Centerlines, $1200 for tires, & $3k for front brks.

i paid 420 for my centerlines with tires, search craigslist and this site you can find a much better deal than that, plus what tires where you looking at, from what ive seen you could get a set for 600-700 not 1200!

Was that price used? I was lookin @ Centerlines site, & it said to call on 18"s. But their price on some 17s was $800 total. Tires, I still have to look into, but mind u I'm in Mich., not AZ. I've got to deal w/ snow, ice or a mix of the 2 in winter.
