Nice, that seemed pretty quick, did you get it shipped back?

...so it was the input shaft... who was it earlier in the thread that mentioned PB told them they don't need to use hardened shafts because they've never seen one broken???

I mention that on this or on a thread i started. Guess PB was wrong. Just because of that statement they told me and the one of the 4 vs 5 planetery gears is why i will not buy from them. At the minimal you need hardened shafts they had told me it was not need even with the heavy weight of our trucks. I aslo told them i had a 4l65e and what would i get back and he told me a 4l60e. To me thats a step backwards instead of foward, specially since i am fi.

Wow, that's a scary thing to hear from a professional builder, especially one with a good reputation I have seen pics of multiple broken shafts just on this forum alone

Ouch!!!

Unfortunitly you are correct though and It's something That people have to think about when they are upgradeing from a stock transmission.

Every builder has his preferance on what they believe works and does not work. It doesn't mean that they are correct though.

As far as planateries go, there is a reason Why GM redisgned the standard 4 pinion planetary to a heat treated 5 pinion to use in performance applications.
