Default Parts Swap

I got a line on a free 2002 gmc 2500 with the 6.0, its a 4X4 truck. Wondering if i can fit the rear end in a 2003 gmc 1500 with the 4.8 and if there is a kit to make the 8 bolt rear end a 6 bolt to fit the factory wheels.

There is no kit, but it will bolt in.

If its a 2500HD its likely be a 14 bolt with 10.5 ring gear. Floating hubs will have to be made or modified for 6 lug. Might have to bore the wheel out as well.
