P1870 after rebuild.. help?
So, here is my series of events.
I broke the rear ring gear. I replace that and the related items (pinion gears etc). I replaced the clutches in my 3-4 9 pack as the steels were in bad shape. the rest of the steels and clutches were in good shape and had good clearences. I replaced the band. I then installed the transgo-hd2 kit (most recent edition). Replaced the seals etc. Everything is amazing, better then when I had a shop rebuild it.... EXCEPT... I now throw a p1870 code. Any ideas guys? |

P1870 generally happens when the TCC is commanded on and either slips or does not engage. I would verify lockup is happening first, If not here a list of possible causes for no lockup.
1-oring missing from input shaft 2-TCC VALVE missasembled 3-PWM valve assembly missassembled 4-TCC solenoid bad 5-PWM solenoid bad (TG KIT SHOULD HAVE MADE THIS A NILL POINT) 6-Converter clutch issue. Hope this helps and dont drive it alot till fixed P1870 will cause max line and potential damage possible to hard parts |
