Default Over fill trans a problem?

I just check my dipstick and I have fluid way the hell up on the stick. Is having the trans over filled bad for it? I did notice on the air vent lines coming from the trany is all wet along with the underside of the truck. Thats why I checked the levels.

It's bad for it, not quite as bad as underfilled, but I'd get it fixed ASAP

sounds like you have about 14 quarts in there if its up the stick, lol

ya just drain some out... it'll cause some serious drive train and converter issues, especially when hot. If you have that drain plug on your pan it makes it easier... just drain about 2 quarts out and check it and see if you need more to be drained out. Do this cold tho... bc you will get fluid all over you when you need to stick the drain plug back up there to stop the fluid. I mean you could just let it ALL drain out and fill it back up, bc draining it this way will only drain about 5 quarts anyway.. but it is overfilled so no telling how much will actually come out.

You're checking the fluid with the truck running right?

could this explain all the weird issues i'm having with the the truck feeling numb some times and other times just tearing. Some times when I boot it (trans and engine up to temp) it doesn't pull nearly fast enough for a engine with these mods. Other times when its dead cold and I go to leisurely pull out the trans will almost slip bad in first. Once its warmed up it will not slip at all

Over filling could cause the oil to foam which would cause unstable line pressure and possible clutch failure...
