This thread is very long. You would have to go back and go over everything.

I use the second tranny. GTO version. Deeper first gear because thats what I got and had the opportunity to get. Its is what I wanted too.

I use a 4.56 gear and 275 45 20 GTII Good Year Eagle.

I try and keep it between 1500 and 2000 rpms to keep the blue lights out.

You can change the reluctor somehow and get the speedo working correct. Never had a problem with the cruise not work.

You also can change the pulse per rev and that will correct the speedo.

Ditto, I used a 40T 4L60E reluctor in mine as well and it worked perfectly. It took some adjusting of the sensor so it wasn't too close or far away from sensor.

Interestingly, seems like some people are using the T56's 17T reluctor without any issues also. It might just come down to proper tuning.

I couldnt say on sensor i saw complaints about cruise control not working etc. No one answered if they got it correct so i said **** it and went with what the truck came with.

My experience doing a auto to manual conversion on a 2001 2500 hd was the upper pedal support wasnt there which is kind of important i made the other bracket which in itself is a pita because it sits in a channel where it can slide down further i ended up bolting it down drilling a hole thru center and tacking it with my welder so it wouldnt fall down.

I intially ran it with out the upper pedal support but after seeing the whole thing flex a bunch i made something simple that bolted to the aluminum dash support to keep pedal from moving. big difference in clutch release height at least for me. I can post pics and videos if anyone interested

using factory clutch mounting options is a complete waste of time.

Just in case there are those with active subscriptions to this thread that otherwise don't presently monitor the forums, in another thread I am starting a conversation with Richard of Atomic Fabrication and Performance about creating a metal solution to the clutch pedal bracket problem (i.e. they break a lot and I'm tired of replacing them).

If you are curious or any at all interested, please see the thread here: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...lution-549097/
