4l60e bolt to a 6.0L

Default 4l60e bolt to a 6.0L

Im swapping motors from a 4.8 to a 6.0 will my 4l60e bolt up to my 6.0l.

If the 6.0L was from a 4L80E truck you'll have to use the flexplate from the 4.8 and make sure that you pull the flexplate spacer off the 6.0. If it had a 4L60/65 bolted up you'll be fine and it will swap directly.


What year and model truck was the 6.0 from?

-stupid. I learned the hard way, lol. If you're not sure, just put your converter on the flexplate and make sure the bolt holes line up. I believe the one for the 4L80e will have bolt holes that are too spread out, so it's easy to notice which one fits.

2000 gmc 2500 is where im getting the trans.

Im going to be running around 12 psi and hope for around 600hp at the wheels so im hoping my stage 2 flt will hold, i just ordered it when i came across this 6.0. Im kinda new at this so i dont want to cut any corners.

The FLT lvl5 would have been a better choice if you plan on making that much power. They rate the lvl 5 to 550 so....

If your using a stock 4l60e your already cutting corners. It might last 2 weeks with that much hp.
