never heard of that, but it doesn't mean its not true. I believe that the computer needs to see it in either nuetral or park in order to engage the starter.

well i unpluged it the other night to get it started. As soon as i get my floor shifter installed im going to attempt to test drive it

I've ran into this my self. I never ran the trans I sent it back, maybe you could find a shell for a later model trans. as far as the nuetral switch beening built in, the wiring harness will have to be modified. you will need to know pin locations for the trans plug and install the wires going to your old switch to the plug, and even then I'm not sure it will work!
