My truck is a 02 Chevy extended cab short bed 1500. I picked up a 4l80e from 05 Chevy express van. The tail shaft is about 5 3/4” and the yoke shaft is 6”. I pulled the yoke from a 2000 Chevy 4x4 2500. I’ve read most the threads on this forum but need to verify if the yoke needs trimmed. At most it would be 1/4” before the yoke bottoms out. I’m planning on using the drive shaft from my truck which is a two piece with slip joint in the middle. I’ve read about an o ring somewhere on the trans tail shaft. Mine doesn’t have one but does have a thin medal sleeve with an o ring that the yoke slides in. The sleeve is about 3” long. I read that I didn’t need to shorten my existing drive shaft but possibly the yoke would need to be trimmed. Thanks
