Default Need Help! rear end issues!

I had a stock rear end with 456 gears that gave out on me last night. I have a 08 Crew cab GMC with 572 rwhp with 35 inch mud tires and a built transmission, i need a heavy duty rear end now but not sure what to go with or where to get it.

4.56 Never came stock in these vehicles.

You can get a factory 14 bolt 9.5 that will bolt in and add the gears you want.

If you're breaking axles though, You will have the same problem with the 14 bolt.

I had the 4.56 gears installed in my stock rearend due to the lift and 35's, I knew the rearend was going to need to be replaced sooner or later, its the only part of the drivetrain that is stock. I've been trying to find a 14 bolt at the junk yards around but not having any luck

I priced a custom built 9" but it was 4k and would b 12 weeks before I would receive it due to them being busy. Not wanting to spend that much hoping I can get out of this situation for under 2,500 bucks

The Option Code is AXN and it was only available in the Vortec Max package. The early ones had a 6.0 that was later replaced by 6.2

Where are you looking? I can't touch an AXN (not that I want one) for less than $1200 + core around here.

OP, for $2500 you can build a 6 lug full floating 14 bolt and possibly have money left over.... With as much HP you have and big tires, I would opt to get away from semi floating axles.

I'm in CA and they pop up on Craigs List from time to time for $500. I have seen them in AZ and TX on Craigslist for that price too. I stopped buying them.

I would rather have the 1500HD or 2500 light duty version and use the OBS 4x4 axle's.
