Default Line to lube hole vs sonax valve

My 4l80e is having problems with converter drag at idle What's every ones opinion, drill a hole in the pump or get the sonax lube pressure regulated valve? Only real advantage i see is the sonax valve doesn't allow the converter to drain back when the vehicle isn't running but that isn't enuff to warrant the price tag for me to purchase it. Also the trans is out of the vehicle and pump is already out and apart, so drilling a hole is simple at this point.
so is there any other advantage to the valve over the simple hole drilling?

Hole. Drill to .093

Valve is not a benefit. The hole is better.

I don't care that transgo or whoever says to drill it to .055

Drill to .093 and be done.
