Lifted 2500hd converter
 

I have a 2002 2500hd 6.0 4l80 4x4. I use the truck for weekend driving and truck pulling. Truck is lifted on 35s and cammed with a 228r Texas speed cam. Last season I ran a 3600 b&m converter and wrecked it pulling in one summer. Truck has a 40k trucool cooler also. Just looking for something that will stand up to 6500lbs and 35s and truck pulling.

pulling it is always in 1st gear and will never be shifted while pulling. Truck rarely sees driving other then to and from pulls and never tows a trailer. Not sure what i need as far as strength goes. I liked the 3600 but not sure if single disk will be ok as I'm not shifting it wot. Let me know what you think a good setup would be Thank you.

In such a heavy truck I think I would lean triple disc myself. I would also probably go for a 258mm unit. They larger units tend to be a little stronger with higher power ratings.

Is it easy to spin tire off the line while you are pulling? If so, I would say you probably don't need to go quite as loose. A 3200 258mm billet triple disc should do just fine and gain you some efficiency up top to help increase wheel speed once you're rolling. While driving a converter like this on the street youll definitely notice a little loss in the "playfulness" off the line, however once rolling I think you will find the converter lays the power down better. Seeing as you aren't drag racing or focused on a 60' I think you would actually like this a lot better.
