Default installing cooler to existing factory auxilary cooler.

how did you guys install your aftermarket coolers to your truck if you had the factory tow package that has the additional external cooler behind the grille?

if you bought the 40k GVW one like i did, you will not need all three - I know Cali has warmer weather than NE ohio, but ill tell ya this summer when it was in the 90's the temp never got above 150 degrees. My honest opinion, rip the stock ones off and get the biggy one....

But if you insist on both, install the bigger one closest to the radiator and pancake them!!

On my 99 Dakota, I removed the factory cooler and replaced it with this B&M 70274 cooler. I also bypassed the radiator altogether. In the summer heat, the tranny temp never exceeded 160°. I suppose you could add an additional cooler inline with your existing ones. Can't hurt!

K..I did exactly what you are trying to do..simply get high pressure trans line, take the return out of the stock unit, plumb it into the inlet of the new one, and the outlet into the return line. Just cut the stock lines so you dont have to get fittings...heres a pic...I have more indetail ones if you really need it...

stock

all three
