Default Idea! - Ride Control Shocks

I have been doing a little research. I am not really sure it is worth the time or money but here I go.

My truck is a 2001 that came with the ride control feature. Basically, it is electronically controlled shocks. With the press of a button, the ride firmness increases. Mostly used for towing, but I would use it for handling.

Since I lowered my truck 6+ years ago, the shocks are long gone. I found that Monroe makes a replacement, but I would need them shorter. I have spindles and springs up front and a flip kit in the rear. It will be a 4.5/7 drop.

So my questions are:
Am I wasting my time? I think maybe being that the shocks are $200 a piece.
Can I have the Monroe shock made shorter? How much shorter?
Should I just go with some QA1s and call it good?

Belltech makes shocks for lowered trucks . S-10 shocks are shorter than our trucks, maybe try a front pair for an S-10? QA1 would be a good choice.
