Alrighty.

So I guess my gameplan for now is to install the rear shackles and then decrank the front to match. After that, jack the front end up and trim the bumpstops.

I haven't found a procedure for cranking on the torsion bars. Anything special I need to know?
Thanks for all the advice.

You can mark the heads with a white grease pencil if you want to be exact but you dont need to.

Sweet! Do you guys think with the rear blocks removed, and McG shackles installed I can adjust the front torsion bars enough to match the rear?

The shackles have 2 holes. I assume that one hole is 1 inch down, and 2 holes are 2 inches down. Maybe I should only go down one inch?

I'm really worried that me adjusting the torsion bars is going to make my truck bouncy and handle like crap.

Just try it out. If you dont like it crank it back up. You need an alignment anyways.

Hey Bud.

This is my Z71 with stock keys decranked all the way and belltech 2'' drop shackles and rear blocks removed.

Im surprised you arent lower with your new spindles, but with decranking the keys you will get about 1.5-2'' lower.

I like to jack the front end up and take pressure off the bolts before i crank or decrank them. Just back them all the way out and let it off the jack, make sure it sits level on each side. Then if your happy get it aligned.

I just ordered a set of McGaughy's 17'' - 2'' drop spindles and rear hangers, im hoping it gets about 2-2.5 '' more of drop.

I wish my truck looked like BLACK04

Go ahead and set the shackles at 2". Alot of times to set the shackles to 1" you have to slightly raise the rear of the bed to get the upper bolt in place.

Plus next week you'll want to go lower anyway!

Mcg spindles and 3/4 ton keys decranked a little. Trimmed bumpstops to just kiss the lca. rides pretty good. The back is now a 1" higher and the fron I cranked back up a little. It was too low for me

I installed my shackles. I used the top bolt hole.

I think they're riding on the bumpstops. I'll have to either remove the mounting plate, or trim them.
